Gender as a term is seen as a social construct to describe the differences between men and women.
The following article is not arguing against the women’s rights but sheds light in some areas that need to be considered also when we talk of gender equality, with particular focus to the family. Women deserve as much respect as men.Education, high level jobs, good publicity are some of the factors that women truly deserve.
My particular focus today is on Gender and family, how the issue of gender balances can be a threat to the family institution. There’s a worldwide Revolution by women intended to award women the same privileges given to men. There has been what has been termed women’s rights these rights practically are against the oppression of women mostly by men and in this view it can be noted that the main objective therefore of women’s rights is to achieve equality to men. This equality has been seen by most as nearly impractical to achieve, this could be explained in two ways:
Firstly, our physical build destines us to different roles in society. The roles we receive in society are seen as naturally determined. For example during the hunting and gathering age societal roles were determined by their physical abilities like running, strength etc
Secondly, we take a notion that is difficult to argue against, the biblical approach. God created woman as the men’s helper, the woman should obey her husband are some of the lines common in bible verses. Through observation, respect and obeying each other between husband and wife have largely contributed and can also be seen as the backbone of keeping the family intact. Latest trends have shown that extremely qualified women find it difficult to settle down, many have attributed this to the women’s demands as their need to be more powerful and controlling in relationships is reinforced by their qualifications. Many men do not want to feel controlled and overpowered in relationships and do not stay in situations.


Sexologist John Money coined the term gender role in 1955. "The term gender role is used to signify all those things that a person says or does to disclose himself or herself as having the status of boy or man, girl or woman, respectively .Elements of such a role include clothing, speech patterns, movement, occupations, and other factors not limited to biological sex.
Gender difference is merely a construct of society used to enforce the distinctions made between that which is assumed to be male and female.Therefore the major difference that exists is seen through our capabilities,in most cases which has proved to be physical abilities.
